Ricardo Martinelli Linares. Firstborn of former President Ricardo Martinelli Berrocal (2009-2014) and Marta Linares.

STUDIES IN THE USA

At the end of high school in 1997, he travels to the United States to study Business and administration at Georgetown University, Washington D.C. where he outstands from his classmates by graduating with the best grades of his generation in 2002. He decides to complement his studies traveling abroad to participate in a school exchange, specifically at the Autonomous University of Madrid, Spain. After some years working, Ricardo Martinelli Linares decides to return to the classrooms to start a master in political systems and economy in which he analyzed and compared the different systems found in Latin America. In 2005, he starts one of his last academic challenges, he decides to travel to London, specifically to London Business School to take an MBA or Master Business Administration.

RICARDO MARTINELLI LINARES AND HIS PROFESIONAL CAREER

He began his professional career in 2002 at CITIGROUP Global Corporate and Investment Bank, Panama where he worked as Assistant Manager. Some of his operations comprise team leadership, to improve rating models on emerging market debts, internal analysis of the industry and fulfilling the department goals.

In the summer of 2006, Ricardo Martinelli is given the opportunity to do an internship at Lehman Brothers in London, UK. In which he creates the model of valuation and coordination in the purchase of 400 million euros in oil and gas in the Benelux region for an industry company. By acquiring knowledge in oil-based assets, he creates a pitchbook for a renewable energy company with the goal of reaching a greater number of potential clients.

Later, in 2008, he began a practice in corporate finance at Mckinsey & Company in London, where he developed and structured the financial model for the pricing of hospital services in London. He also held investigations and operations in the Hospital to identify cost savings in the provision of medical services.

RICARDO MARTINELLI LINARES IN CURRENT EVENTS

Since 2006 until now, Ricardo Martinelli Linares has been directing different companies of the Martinelli Group, such as Ricamar S.A or Super99, Panama’s most recognized food retailer where his participation has been vital for the development of commercial and financial strategies.

Ricardo Martinelli Linares also has some diplomatic experience, as he is the first honorary consul of Australia in Panama (2011-2015), representing the country in the G-20 and supporting the Australian citizens with their rights in Panamanian land.
